Renting

Sandy Springs offers individuals looking to rent an apartment many options: high-rise living, townhomes and a wide variety of apartment complexes.

In cooperation with the Sandy Springs Police Department, the City provides an Apartment Safety Checker Guide to help with research.

Sometimes, issues do occur within the apartment community. For renters experiencing problems with their home, it is advisable to first contact your landlord to try and resolve the issue.

Some of the more common issues the City's Code Enforcement officers encounter include:

  • Presence of suspicion of mold - The City of Sandy Springs does not test for mold, but may require the owner or property manager to hire a third party company specializing in mold testing to conduct the test and provide the results to the owner and City once complete if evidence warrants such a test.
  • HVAC systems that are inoperable - for example, lack of heat
  • Water leaks
  • Rodent/pest issues

Residents are encouraged to call their landlords when they first notice a problem. If the issue is still unresolved, please contact Code Enforcement through the Citizen Response Center 770-730-5600. The Call Center is open 24/7/365.

Apartment complex managers can learn more about apartment complex code enforcement compliance in the business area of our website.
