Fun Fall Activities in Sandy Springs

September 16, 2022

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (Sept. 15, 2022) --Sweater weather is right around the corner, and the cooler temperatures are ideal for bird walks, outdoor fitness classes and sports, or just enjoying the fall foliage and season in our beautiful city. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, or just looking for some family fun experiences, there’s something for everyone in Sandy Springs.  Here’s a highlight of upcoming opportunities. For a full list of events and activities, please visit https://www.sandyspringsga.gov/.

Fall Fun for All

Celebrate the first day of fall on Thurs. Sept. 22 from 4:30 – 7 p.m. at Overlook Park Pavilion! Join us for an event designed to create an opportunity for children with physical and developmental disabilities to have an inclusive experience with the community. Fall Fun for All will feature mid-way games, prizes, light snacks, refreshments, and maybe a surprise or two. New this year explore our accessible corn maze and interact with the instrumental petting zoo. There will be live music, too! Although this is a free event, registration is required to manage capacity.

Paws and Pastries

Join us on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Morgan Falls Dog Park for our third annual dog socialization event, Paws and Pastries! Spending time at the park helps keep a dog’s socialization skills in tip-top form and can wear out a busy pup. The dog park features two fenced-in areas, one for smaller pups and one for larger dogs. There will be dog treats, tennis balls, water, and pastries! Please bring your own dog bowl and water to minimize sharing between dogs. The Paws and Pastries “pawty” is going to be “pawesome!”

Spooky Springs

It’s time for the City’s annual family-friendly event for young trick-or-treaters! Join our costumed characters on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. at Abernathy Greenway North for a not-so-frightful evening filled with the fun sights and sounds of Halloween! There will be trick-or-treating candy stations, a face painting station, photo op stations, and food trucks.
