Welcome to Sandy Springs’ galleries without walls. Residents and visitors are invited to explore public art installations throughout the city’s parks, trails, and gathering spaces.

The Vision for Art in Sandy Springs
Sandy Springs has a community vision of becoming a leading arts destination within the Atlanta metropolitan area.
A key part of this vision is the City’s Art in Public Places initiative, led by the City of Sandy Springs in partnership with Art Sandy Springs and other community organizations.
City Springs Art Walk
The City Springs Art Walk serves as a “gallery without walls” and features selections from previous ArtSS in the Open Sculpture Contest exhibits.

Solstice
Solstice, created by artist David Landis, is located in the traffic island between The Select and Nam restaurants at City Springs.
The sculpture was gifted to the City by Cornerstone Donors in honor of the Sandy Springs Society’s 35 years of service to the community.

Sandy and the Children
Sandy and the Children is a cast bronze sculpture originally gifted to the Sandy Springs Society by Bob and Linda Brown in recognition of the Town Turtle project.
The Sandy Springs Society later donated the sculpture to the City to commemorate its 20th anniversary.
The sculpture is located at City Springs between the City Green and the Splashpad.

The Gallery at City Springs, located in the lobby of City Hall, features rotating exhibits showcasing local artists.

Sandy Springs Art Programs
Sandy Springs supports arts and culture through a variety of public art programs and community partnerships.
Art in Public Places Plan
In September 2020, City Council adopted the Sandy Springs Art in Public Places Plan to guide the growth of public art throughout the city.
The plan’s vision is to enrich the lives of residents, businesses, and visitors through accessible, high-quality public art that celebrates diversity, creativity, and community identity.
ArtSS in the Open
In partnership with Art Sandy Springs, the City hosts ArtSS in the Open, an outdoor sculpture competition at City Springs.
Local, regional, and national artists are invited to submit artwork proposals for temporary exhibition around the City Green.
Each year, the City may purchase one or more sculptures from the exhibit to expand the permanent public art collection.
Artists should submit entries electronically through CaFE.org .

Donating Art
The City accepts public art donations through its Gifts to the City program.
