About SSFD
Our mission is to provide the highest level of fire and emergency services to residents and visitors through highly trained and compassionate personnel.
We are committed to delivering excellent customer service through emergency response, education, prevention, and professional services.
The Sandy Springs Fire Department began operations on December 29, 2006, and currently serves the community with 121 full-time and four part-time personnel.
The department maintains a fleet of 13 primary response vehicles to support emergency response operations and community protection efforts.

The department operates from five fire stations throughout Sandy Springs.
In 2016, the City of Sandy Springs earned a Class 2 rating from the Insurance Services Office (ISO) for fire suppression services.
ISO ratings are commonly used by insurance companies during underwriting and insurance rate evaluations.
