On Friday, May 2, elected officials, City management and staff, along with community partners celebrated the first step in bringing the Trail Master Plan to fruition. The scenic 1.88-mile section of the Springway provides access to the Chattahoochee River, connecting Roswell Road to Morgan Falls Overlook Park at Cimarron Parkway.

Welcome to the Springway
This segment of Springway is the first installment of the City's Trail Master Plan (PDF, opens in new tab) .
The trail provides access to the Chattahoochee River from Roswell Road. This scenic 1.88-mile segment connects Morgan Falls Overlook Park to Roswell Road at Cimarron Parkway.
Know Before You Go
- The Springway is open from dawn to dusk.
- The trail works like a roadway. Stay to the right, keep moving, and allow room for passing on the left.
- No gas-powered vehicles or golf carts are permitted. Only small, low-speed electric personal mobility devices are allowed.
- Keep pets on a short leash. Walk pets on the right shoulder and clean up after them.
- Helmets should be worn while biking, skating, or using other transportation devices.
- Fishing is not permitted from the boardwalk. Please keep the boardwalk clear for trail users.
- Swimming and diving are not permitted in the lake.
- Human food is unhealthy for birds. Please do not feed ducks, geese, or other wildlife.
Parking Information
Visitors traveling to the Springway by car may park at the Morgan Falls Dog Park located at 100 Morgan Falls Road.
Construction Details
The project includes construction of an 8–12-foot-wide multi-use trail with five-inch concrete and six-inch pervious concrete surfaces, retaining walls, drainage structures, pedestrian bridges, a top-down boardwalk with concrete decking, roadway realignments, landscaping, and trail signage.
The City received a Georgia Department of Natural Resources Georgia Conserve Grant in the amount of $3,000,000 through the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program.
The total project cost is estimated at $7,800,000. The City is responsible for providing a cash match to cover the remaining construction costs of approximately $4,800,000.
Construction on Segment 2A is complete, and adjacent segments are currently in design.
