Roswell Road Transit Access and Streetscape Improvements
Project Overview
This project will improve pedestrian access to transit along the Roswell Road corridor from the City limits to I-285.
Improvements are funded jointly by the City of Sandy Springs and a MARTA Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant.
Additional improvements include:
- ADA curb ramps
- Bus stop shelters
- Pedestrian lighting
- Brick pavers
- Landscaping
Phase 1
Status: Construction is anticipated to begin in summer 2026.
Phase 1 improvements include:
- Utility relocations
- Driveway reconstruction
- Sidewalk construction
- Landscape strips
- Curb and gutter improvements
- ADA ramps
- MARTA bus shelters
- Pedestrian lighting installations
- A mid-block crossing with a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) at Mystic Place
- A median at Old Windsor Parkway
- Additional related roadway and pedestrian improvements
Improvements extend along Roswell Road from the south side of the City limits to Mystic Drive.
Phases 2 and 3
Status: Currently in the right-of-way phase. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2027.

August 18, 2022 Public Meeting
The City of Sandy Springs hosted a community meeting to provide the public with an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed improvements.
The meeting was held at Sandy Springs City Hall, 1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
