Proper Pruning Practices
Pruning Standards
- All cuts must serve a defined purpose (e.g., hazard reduction, deadwood removal).
- Dormant-season pruning is preferred; exceptions apply to urgent cases.
- Cuts should respect the branch collar to encourage proper healing.
- Crown reduction must not exceed 25% of live foliage in one season.
- Topping is prohibited.
Residents are encouraged to consult certified arborists for significant pruning or removal.
