Description: The Old Riverside Park Project is a comprehensive improvement designed to transform the undeveloped property into an accessible, environmentally sensitive, and community-focused park. The project scope includes site preparation, grading, and erosion control to meet state and city environmental standards; installation of new infrastructure including driveways, parking, trails, and drainage systems; and construction of a prefabricated restroom facility with complete utility connections.
The design also features a nature-based playground with log and wood play elements, picnic areas, and shade structures, all built to ADA and ASTM safety standards. Strict measures for tree protection, stormwater management, and native landscape restoration are integrated throughout the project to preserve the park’s ecological integrity.
Background: At the April 7, 2026 City Council meeting, a contract was awarded to Eastern Builders Inc. for the construction of Old Riverside Park in the amount of $3,980.770.00.
