Map

Status: Park construction is scheduled to begin in late spring or summer 2026.

Description: The Old Riverside Park Project is a comprehensive improvement initiative designed to transform the undeveloped property into an accessible, environmentally sensitive, and community-focused park.

The project includes site preparation, grading, and erosion control measures that comply with state and City environmental standards. Planned infrastructure improvements include new driveways, parking areas, trails, and drainage systems, as well as construction of a prefabricated restroom facility with full utility connections.

The design also features a nature-based playground with log and wood play elements, picnic areas, and shade structures. All amenities will be constructed to meet ADA and ASTM safety standards. Tree protection measures, stormwater management systems, and native landscape restoration are integrated throughout the project to help preserve the park's ecological integrity.

Background

At the April 7, 2026, City Council meeting, the City awarded a contract to Eastern Builders Inc. for construction of Old Riverside Park in the amount of $3,980,770.00.
