Description:
The Fire Station 4 Project is a public safety initiative designed to replace the existing station with a modern facility that supports emergency response operations, firefighter wellness, and long-term community needs.
Located at 5275 Roswell Road, the project includes the construction of a new two-story, approximately 21,618-square-foot fire station and a separate 11,561-square-foot logistics building. The station will feature three drive-through apparatus bays, equipment and gear storage areas, decontamination spaces, administrative offices, training areas, and living quarters to support 24-hour staffing.
The logistics building will provide centralized storage and operational support functions for the Sandy Springs Fire Department. Site improvements include parking, landscaping, stormwater infrastructure, and designated training space to enhance daily operations and preparedness. The new facility is designed to improve emergency response capabilities, support regional mutual aid efforts, and meet the growing needs of the community for years to come.
Background:
Built in 1975, Fire Station 4 is staffed daily by a four-person engine company and a four-person aerial truck company. The station also houses a Fire Corps support unit and provides automatic aid support to the City of Atlanta, helping strengthen regional emergency response capabilities.
