Burdett Park now connects the Abernathy Arts Center to Greenway Park, improving pedestrian connectivity on both sides of this busy corridor.

In 2025, the City Council approved a $375,000 contract with Alpharetta-based Tri Scapes to construct the park within the City's right-of-way along Johnson Ferry Road near the Abernathy Road intersection.

Tri Scapes planted a variety of trees, including holly, serviceberry, magnolia, red oak, and Japanese cedar, along with hydrangeas, Rose Creek abelia shrubs, and Chinese fringe flowers.
