Sweep the Hooch Volunteers at Morgan Falls Overlook Park

There were 32 volunteers (10 walkers and 22 paddlers) that collected trash from the Chattahoochee River at Morgan Falls Overlook Park.  This group collected more 1,000 pounds of trash from the river and surrounding park area.  Keep North Fulton Beautiful organized the Sandy Springs group and High Country Outfitters provided kayaks for the volunteers.

“Tree Cities of the World” Recognition

Thursday, April 21
The City earned the "Tree Cities of the World" recognition for the third year in a row. According to a tree canopy assessment performed using imagery from the 2019 U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agriculture Imagery Program, Sandy Springs is 57% to 60% tree covered.
