The City of Sandy Springs to Host 16th Annual Veterans Day Tribute

October 8, 2025

The City will host its 16th Annual Veterans Day Tribute on Tuesday, November 11 at 11 a.m. in Byers Theatre at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. This free community event welcomes all to come together in recognition of the dedication and sacrifice of America’s veterans.

U.S. Navy Commander Frank Weisser, a two-time Blue Angels Aviator, will serve as the Keynote Speaker. Commander Weisser was deployed to combat three separate times. He flew in the front seat as an F-18 pilot for some of Top Gun: Maverick’s most memorable scenes. A native of Atlanta, Ga., Weisser graduated from North Springs High School and the United States Naval Academy. He joined the Blue Angels in September 2007 and has accumulated more than 5,000 flight hours and nearly 500 carrier landings.

In addition to remarks from Weisser, the event will feature the Sandy Springs Fire and Police Honor Guard, patriotic music by the Sandy Springs Middle School Choir, and a tribute to veterans by service branch.

The City of Sandy Springs proudly honors the sacrifice and valor of local heroes year-round at Veterans Park. Those wishing to pay tribute to loved ones with personalized pavers and benches can visit spr.gs/veterans. Event details can be found at Veterans Day Tribute.
