City of Sandy Springs to Host Next Ten Comprehensive Plan Update Public Meeting

Help us Plan What Comes Next in Sandy Springs

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (March 8, 2022) The Sandy Springs community is invited to participate in a discussion about the Next Ten Comprehensive Plan 5-year Update. The 5-year update will look at the 2017 Next Ten Comprehensive Plan accomplishments to date, and encourage a community conversation about the next five years of plan implementation. This meeting is the first of several public engagement opportunities planned as part of the 2022 Next Ten Comprehensive Plan 5-year update process.

WHAT: The Next Ten Comprehensive Plan is the official statement of the City’s vision for its future. It expresses the Sandy Springs community’s aspirations and goals, while articulating a corresponding set of policies and recommendations to guide future decisions regarding land use, development and capital improvements.

WHEN: Monday, March 28, 6:30 p.m.

WHERE: Sandy Springs City Hall, Third Floor Terrace Room, 1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Parking is available in the City Springs Parking Deck.

BACKGROUND INFO: After extensive community engagement, the Next Ten Comprehensive Plan was adopted in February 2017 as a major 10-year update to the 2007 Comprehensive Plan. The Georgia Department of Community Affairs requires an update to the Comprehensive Plan every five years. The Next Ten 5-year Update will serve as a minor update to the 2017 Next Ten Comprehensive Plan.

The presentation, displays and an online public input survey will be posted on the City’s website following the meeting. Public input will be accepted until April 8, 2022. For more information please visit http://spr.gs/thenextten.
