City of Sandy Springs’ Movies by Moonlight Returns to Heritage Amphitheatre August 23

August 8, 2024

The City of Sandy Springs is proud to announce three new opportunities for families to share memorable movie nights with neighbors and friends under the stars. Movies by Moonlight is back for its second season at Heritage Amphitheatre (6110 Blue Stone Road, Sandy Springs, 30328) beginning on Friday, August 23 with screening of The Iron Giant (1999, rated PG).

Kicking off the 2024 Movies by Moonlight series, The Iron Giant tells the story of a young boy’s improbable friendship with a giant alien robot during the Cold War. Following this, join the City for The Princess Diaries (2001, rated G) on September 6 and Halloweentown (1998, rated TV-PG) on October 4. The films will begin just after sunset, around 8:30 p.m., on a giant inflatable screen.

Moviegoers are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs for a comfortable viewing experience. The outdoor lobby and concession stand open at 7:30 p.m., offering a variety of snacks and drinks for purchase. Enjoy popcorn, hot dogs, candy, and more from The Popcorn Lady. Admission is free to all three movies.
