Sandy Springs to Host Final Design Guidelines Public Meeting

The Sandy Springs community is invited to attend a public meeting to help guide the preparation of design guidelines for the city's commercial areas. At this fifth and final public open house, the project team will share highlights of the draft guidelines.

Topics will include:

  • The overall document structure and content
  • Key design principles, objectives, and strategies
  • Area-specific guidance about the six focus areas

WHEN:      Thursday, April 23, 2026. 6 – 8 p.m.

WHERE:     Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center, Studio Theatre Lobby, 1 Galambos Way           

The draft guidelines build on public feedback received during prior rounds of public engagement. Exhibit and presentation materials from this meeting will be posted on the Design Guidelines page on the Sandy Springs website.. The full draft of the Design Guidelines document will be made available for public review and comment until May 15.

BACKGROUND:

The City of Sandy Springs is developing design guidelines for its six primary commercial and mixed-use areas. These guidelines aim to encourage future development to align with the varying existing characters and proposed visions for the commercial corridors throughout Sandy Springs.

The guidelines will build on standards included in the Development Code and Technical Manual by providing additional design, area-specific context for building features, building sites, landscaping, streetscapes, and other elements that shape the appearance and experience of the six primary commercial and mixed-use areas of the city, including:

  • Greater City Springs
  • Crossroads
  • Neighborhood Village
  • North End
  • Central Perimeter
  • Powers Ferry
