Apply for the Sandy Springs Citizens’ Leadership Academy.
Courses will take place at Sandy Springs City Hall and other municipal facilities, including the Sandy Springs Police Headquarters and Municipal Court Complex. Class size is limited to 30 participants, and a $35 fee is due after attendance is confirmed.
Now in its third year, the Sandy Springs Citizens’ Leadership Academy offers participants opportunities to meet the Mayor, City Council, and City staff while learning about the structure, functions, and responsibilities of local government. The program is designed to give participants the knowledge and tools needed to become more involved in the Sandy Springs community.
The academy includes 11 classes covering topics such as City management, Recreation and Parks, Emergency Management, and Signature Events. The program concludes with a graduation ceremony at a City Council meeting in the spring.
