Sandy Springs Details Qualifying Period for Upcoming Municipal Elections

A municipal General Election for the City of Sandy Springs will be held on November 4, 2025, to fill the offices of Mayor and Council members for the six City Council Districts in Sandy Springs.

Candidates shall qualify to fill the aforementioned offices in the office of the City Clerk at Sandy Springs City Hall, 1 Galambos Way, between the hours of 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. from Monday, August 18 through Thursday, August 21, and between the hours of 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m. on Friday, August 22.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-131(a)(1), the following qualifying fees were set by the Sandy Springs City Council at the January 7, 2025, City Council meeting (Resolution No. 2025-01-007).

• Mayor: $1,260.00
• City Council Member: $780.00

Candidates may qualify by one of the following methods:

1. Filing a Notice of Candidacy and paying a set qualifying fee to the Municipal Clerk/Election Superintendent or designated agent for the desired office.
2. Filing a Notice of Candidacy, a Qualifying Petition, and a Pauper's Affidavit affirming under oath the candidate's poverty or inability to pay the qualifying fee as required by O.C.G.A. Sections 21-2-132(g) and 21-2-132(h) with the Municipal Clerk/Election Superintendent or designated agent.
