Living in a Flood Zone

The Chattahoochee River Corridor is any property within 2000 feet from the banks of the Chattahoochee River. A Stream Buffer is the 75 foot protection corridor along designated streams and bodies of water.  To learn more about the River Corridor and the impact of flooding, please visit the website’s River Corridor and Flood Zone page under the Natural Resource Protection area.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Interactive Flood Map enables you to access the current and proposed Sandy Springs floodplains via a dynamic online map. The system allows you to search an address and determine if the property could be threatened by future floods.
