Litter and Graffiti
Maintaining a clean and attractive city that residents can take pride in, while preserving Sandy Springs’ natural beauty, is a priority for City officials.
The City’s litter ordinance establishes penalties for littering and graffiti offenses, with fines ranging from $100 to $1,000 depending on the nature and severity of the violation.
City maintenance crews routinely remove trash and debris from streets, rights-of-way, and public spaces. Public lawn areas are maintained on a regular schedule to help keep community spaces clean and well maintained.
Property owners also play an important role in maintaining the appearance of residential and commercial areas throughout the city.
City ordinances establish maintenance standards, and residents may report potential violations by contacting the City and requesting to speak with a Code Enforcement Officer at 770-730-5600.
The goal of the City’s Code Enforcement Division is to achieve voluntary compliance with City ordinances.
If compliance is not achieved, a Code Enforcement Officer may issue a Notice of Violation or a citation. Penalties may include fines, mandatory court appearances, or other remedies authorized by law.
