Know Before You Go 

🚗 Parking - For everyone's safety, cars are NOT allowed near the parade route. Please park at 7840 Roswell Rd, then shuttle or walk to the Pre-Parade Party (0.4 miles, or a 10 minute walk). 

🗺️ Parade Route - Parade steps-off at the Pre-Parade Party (Sandy Springs Municipal Complex), walks along Morgan Falls Rd, and ends at Morgan Falls Overlook Park. The parade route is 1 mile, downhill. 

⏰ Schedule - The Parade is Saturday, May 9, 2026 with festivities starting at 6:00 p.m. Pre-Parade Party is 6 - 8:30 pmParade line-up is at 8 pm, and step-off is at 8:30 pm. 

🚍 Shuttles - Shuttles run between Parking and the Pre-Parade Party until parade line-up (6 - 10:30 pm). After parade step-off, shuttles only run from Overlook Park back to Parking (9-11pm). Staying for the parade? Plan to walk to Overlook Park or back to Parking. 

🎨 Lanterns - Create your lantern in advance, then bring it to the parade. Only LED battery powered lights are allowed; No fire or flying lanterns. 

🚻 Restrooms - Located at Parking, Pre-Parade Party, and Overlook Park. There no restrooms along the parade route. 

 

Frequently Asked Questions 

What are the most important safety notes?

  • Please stay off the retaining walls located along the parade route.
  • Do not stand, lean-on, or prop anything along the wooden fences in the park.
  • No drones, No pets, No bicycles.
  • Lanterns: Only LED battery are powered lights allowed. No fire, and no flying lanterns.

What happens if it rains?

In the event of inclement weather, we will announce updates on Instagram or Facebook

    Where are the restrooms? 

     Located at Parking, Pre-Parade Party, and Overlook Park. There no restrooms along the parade route. 

    How long is the parade route? 

    The Lantern Parade is a family-friendly event. The parade route is 1 miles long (downhill). It is a walking parade, so good walking shoes are a must.

    After the event, there are shuttles to bring you back (uphill) to parking.

    Where can I view the parade? 

    You can bring folding chairs & blankets to watch the parade.

    The parade fills up the entire road, so watchers should remain on the sidewalk.

    For your safety, please do not sit or climb on the retaining walls along the route. 

    If you’d like to view the parade from Overlook Park, you can walk your stuff down and take the shuttle back to the Parking (7840 Roswell Road) at the end of the event. 

    Is Morgan Falls Road / Overlook Park closed?

    Can I bring my dog?

    We love our fur-babies, but this is a people parade. For the safety of both pets and people, we ask that you leave your pets at home. Service animals are permitted.

    Can I bring my ... 

    • No Drones - Drones are not permitted.
    • No Bicycles - There will be a lot of people on the parade route. For safety reasons, no bikes on the parade route.
    • No Pets - Service animals are permitted.

    Is the parade route wheelchair accessible?

    The parade route is approx. 1 mile down a hill, so the parade route is not able to be wheelchair accessible. 

    Are medical personnel present?

    Yes! Members of Sandy Springs Fire and Police will be located throughout the event. In the event of an emergency, please call 911.

    Can I set up a table to sell or promote?

    No outside vendors are permitted.
