Inspections
The City’s building inspectors verify contractor and property owner work at key milestones throughout a project.
These inspections help ensure compliance with state-adopted building codes.
Once the project is complete, a final inspection is conducted and either a Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Completion is issued based on the permit type.
Request an Inspection
The City of Sandy Springs uses OpenGov for online permitting and inspection services.
Use the Online Permitting Portal to locate your project and request or schedule inspections.
Inspection requests submitted before 2:00 p.m. on weekdays are typically scheduled for the next business day.
Georgia Code also requires smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms in residential dwellings. When permitted alterations, repairs, or additions occur, smoke and CO alarms must be installed where required.
