Annual Audit and Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
In cooperation with the City Auditor, the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report is prepared and submitted to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for consideration of a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. To achieve that certification, a government must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized annual comprehensive financial report with contents conforming to program standards. These reports must also satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.
