Program Overview:

Established in 1987, Atlanta’s Traditional Okinawan Karate-do Dojo (www.atlantakarateschool.com) emphasizes traditional instruction in Shorin Ryu and Shudokan Karate-do. Our dedication to authentic karate transcends the physical aspects of the art, encompassing internal power development drills and time-proven techniques for self-defense. We offer traditional training for modern times.

All of the martial arts at the Dojo are taught in an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual respect. The goal is to strengthen the individual in all aspects of development. With a welcoming environment suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners, the Dojo ensures that individuals can explore the path to physical and mental strength in today's ever-changing world.

We do not teach sport karate. The Okinawans developed these systems hundreds of years ago when unarmed techniques were the only means of self-defense, and the karate we teach has been passed down for generations. Moeller Sensei also incorporates principles and drills from his study of T’ai Chi Ch’uan, Hung Gar Kung Fu and Aikido for more than 30 years. Moeller Sensei is the author of Karate-Do Foundations, published in 1995.
