Wolves of Yellowstone

December 9, 2025    7:00pm

What happens when a key species is reintroduced into an ecosystem? The reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone National Park in 1995 has given scientists the rare opportunity to study the consequences. Since their reintroduction, the cascade of effects has been profound and wide ranging. Not only did species like beaver return, but the health of the rivers and trees was vastly improved. Join us as Alan Toney, master naturalist, looks at Yellowstone 30 years later and the lessons that can be applied to restoring and maintaining healthy ecosystems everywhere.

Alan Toney is a Master Naturalist, Treasurer of the Friends of Lost Corner and Chair of the Fulton County Soil and Water Conservation District. He has been a long time member of the Chattahoochee Riverkeepers. Alan tests the water quality in many streams and creeks in Sandy Springs on a weekly basis.
