Sandy Springs SUP Showdown
August 15, 2026 7:00am
Welcome to the inaugural Sandy Springs SUP Showdown, a competitive stand-up paddleboard race on the Chattahoochee River in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
This 6-mile out-and-back course launches from Morgan Falls Overlook Park at the Murph's Surf Paddle Shack on Bull Sluice Lake. Paddlers will navigate dynamic river conditions—including current and flow—creating a race that tests endurance, strategy, and on-water skill.
This event is presented in partnership with Murph's Surf and Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks, bringing together local expertise and a shared commitment to growing paddle sports in the region. In partnership with Catalyst Sports we have some adaptive kayaks available for adaptive athletes to borrow for this event.
The Sandy Springs SUP Showdown is a true test of endurance on the river, but just as importantly, it’s a reminder that high-level sport can be both competitive and inclusive and fun!
