Adaptive Fishing

July 25, 2025    10:00am

In Partnership with Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and Empower Therapy:

Whether you're a seasoned angler or trying fishing for the first time, this experience is built to meet you where you are.

We can support 16 adaptive anglers and their families, offering personalized assistance based on individual needs.

For some participants, simply having a smaller, sensory-friendly event on even terrain makes all the difference. Others may benefit from adaptive equipment including:

EcoRover all-terrain mobility chairs (6 available; waiver required) Adaptive wrist, grip, and arm supports Hearing, vision, and tactile impairment aids On-the-spot training and hands-on support

We will meet in the Morgan Falls Dam lower parking lot (crushed gravel surface) and make our way to Trail 2A, which features a boardwalk and paved walkway, where we’ve received special permission to fish for this adaptive event.

This welcoming, supportive environment ensures everyone has the chance to enjoy the outdoors and discover the joy of fishing—safely and with dignity.

Please contact Jane Jarrett jjarrett@sandyspringsga.gov for accommodation request or to request an EcoRover mobility chair.
