Development Code

The City of Sandy Springs maintains a comprehensive Development Code and Technical Manual to regulate land use, site development, and construction standards. These regulations provide essential guidance for property owners, developers, and residents to ensure that all development aligns with city policies and community goals.

Allowed Uses and Dimensional Standards

Allowed Use Table

The City of Sandy Springs specifies which land uses are permitted, conditionally permitted with a use permit, or prohibited within each zoning district. The Allowed Use Table in Division 7.2 of the Development Code provides a comprehensive reference for allowable uses across all district types.

Dimensional Standards Table

Each zoning district in Sandy Springs is subject to specific requirements, including minimum lot size, lot width, setbacks, and building height. The Dimensional Standards Table provides a user-friendly summary of these requirements for all districts.

Please note: This table is intended for administrative reference only and has not been formally adopted.

Updates to the Development Code

Periodic updates to the Development Code ensure alignment with community goals and City policies. The most recent major update is part of the Community Work Program defined in The Next Ten Comprehensive Plan. This update advances regulations related to building height, lot size, setbacks, land uses, zoning, and other development standards.
