City Attorney
Dan Lee is a Partner with Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP and practices in the firm's Atlanta office. He has more than 25 years of experience as a municipal and county attorney, having served as County Attorney for two Georgia counties and represented more than 30 counties and cities throughout Georgia. Most recently, Mr. Lee served on Governor Nathan Deal's Transition Team.
Mr. Lee served three terms in the Georgia State Senate, where he worked alongside several individuals who later served in the U.S. Congress. He ultimately became former Governor Sonny Perdue's Senior Administrative Floor Leader, serving as the Governor's spokesperson in the Senate and helping advance legislative initiatives related to ethics reform, education reform, and stronger criminal penalties for the manufacture, transfer, and possession of methamphetamines.
Prior to his service in the Georgia Senate, Mr. Lee was elected Solicitor General for Troup County, Georgia. He also served as Georgia's Eighth District Chair for the George W. Bush presidential re-election campaign in 2004.
Mr. Lee chaired the Senate Public Safety and Judiciary Committees and served on the Natural Resources and Appropriations Committees. He attended Cumberland School of Law and LaGrange College and has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1985.
