During its August 15, 2017 meeting, the Sandy Springs City Council set the stage to create a Foundation in support of arts programming for the city with the approval of Ken Byers, Jan Collins, Mark Oshnock, Ed Patterson, Frances Creekmuir, Kenny Blank, Michael Enoch and John McDonough to the Friends of Sandy Springs Foundation.
With a 6-0 vote, the Sandy Springs City Council on August 15, 2017, approved new Development Code and maps for the city.
During its July 18, 2017 meeting, the Sandy Springs City Council voted in support of changes to its False Alarm Ordinance which shifts the responsibility of alarm registration from the individual homeowner to the alarm companies that provide monitoring services.
