Gymnastics develops strength, coordination, balance, flexibility, and self-confidence. Our classes provide gymnastics instruction for boys and girls of various skill level from 12 months to 18 years of age and adult classes. Class size is based on a student to instructor ratio of  8:1. Our facility has state of the art equipment for all ages including our preschool gym designed for children under five years. All of our coaches are experienced professionals who undergo regular training and are USA Gymnastics Safety, CPR, AED, and First Aid certified.

Getting Started

You are invited to tour the Sandy Springs Gymnastics Center and for your child to experience a complimentary class. Please contact Johanna Godleski by telephone at (770) 206-2037 or email at Jgodleski@sandyspringsga.gov to schedule a convenient time. You will also need to fill out an application and waiver.

Inclement Weather Policy
Cancelation may occur due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances. A make-up class or refund will be offered for any cancelled classes.
The City of Sandy Springs recreational programs will follow Fulton County School Closures for all classes with start times from 8:00am -2:00pm. A decision will be made by 12:00 noon regarding evening classes start time 2:30-10:00pm. Cancellations will be posted on the city Recreation and Parks Facebook page.

Parent and Me Play Date 
Bring your little one for free play in the Sandy Springs Gymnastics Center's Preschool gym. The gym will be set up with two large obstacle courses. This is an unstructured program for your child to bounce, climb, swing and play using gymnastics equipment. Parent participation is required. Drop-ins are welcome or register in advance.  Space is limited to the first 28 registrants. For children ages 5 and under.
Times: Wednesdays 10-11 a.m.

Location: Hammond Park Gymnastics Center; Preschool Gym
Cost: $5/child

  1. All children must be registered in order to enter the gymnastics area.

  2. Stay an arm’s reach from your child(ren) at all times.

  3. Shoes off for grown-ups and bare foot for children.

  4. The trampoline is for children only.

  5. The climbing wall is for going side to side/ No going up and over.

  6. Please don’t try any new gymnastics skills that you child has not tried in class.

  7. Let me know if you would like any suggestion for things to do.

Clinics

Does your child want to master a specific skill or begin learning something new? Our clinics are for all levels. Participants will work in small groups to work towards their individual goals.
Times: 2:00-4:00pm (ages 5-7), 2:00-5:00pm (ages 8+)
Cost: $25 (ages 5-7), $35 (ages 8+)

Camps

Campers have a blast while learning gymnastics. We offer two age groups; Preschool Camp (Ages 3-5) and Youth Camp (Ages 5.5-14).

Birthday Parties

Our gymnastics birthday parties make your kids smile and keep the stress off of your shoulders!

Private Lessons

Fee:  $65/hour or $35/half hour
Lessons are scheduled directly with the instructor of your choice. Payment is required in full prior to the lesson. Please contact Johanna Godleski by telephone at (770) 206-2037 or email at Jgodleski@sandyspringsga.gov for instructor recommendations given your specific needs.

 

Rhythmic Gymnastics

Girls AGES 4-17 – Rhythmic gymnastics provides instruction for girls who love music and dance, and thrive on creativity. Girls have the opportunity to develop coordination, strength and flexibility, as well as self-expression and body alignment. Proper techniques are taught for both body and hand apparatus work with rope, hoop, ball, clubs, and ribbon.

Class Descriptions

Ages 12 months-18 months – Wobblers
“Wobblers” – This parent assisted class focuses on learning social skills through development of basic motor skills, coordination, balance, strength and stretching. Each class begins with a group warm-up on the floor, then obstacle courses for challenging the tots by crawling, climbing, rolling and jumping. Wobblers will enjoy a soft, fun, interesting and colorful adventure throughout the gym with equipment just their size. (Co-ed), Class Length – 30 minutes, *parent participation required

Ages 18 months-2 Yrs Old – Stepping Stones
“Stepping Stones” – This parent assisted class is for walking tots and the adults that love them. Participants learn tumbling, agility, strength and coordination skills in a fun and inviting setting. Focus is placed on the basic motor skills to help your child’s overall development. Waiting their turn and good sportsmanship are positively reinforced. Soft, obstacle courses include the use of bars, beam, trampoline, spring boards, and floor.
(Co-ed) ,class length – 45 minutes, *parent participation required

Ages 2-3 – Tumbling Tots
“Tumbling Tots” – These parent assisted classes provide exposure to basic gymnastics skills, taking turns, following directions and social interactions. Students will build confidence, coordination, and strength while at play doing gymnastics. You and your child will explore bars, beams, vault and trampoline in obstacles that teach basic gymnastics skills along with developing stronger gross motor skills. This will be a time for you and your tot to start learning simple structure and is also a great transition into our Pre Gym classes. (Co-ed) ,class length – 45 minutes, *parent participation required

Ages 3-4 – Pre-Gym I
“Pre Gym I” – These classes are designed to teach participants basic gymnastics skills in a fun filled environment that includes playing games, fun stretches, jumping on the trampoline, and introduction to the Olympic gymnastics Equipment including bars, beam, floor and vault. (Co-ed), class length – 45 minutes, students participate on their own

Ages 4-5  – Pre-Gym II
“Pre Gym II” –  These classes are designed to teach participants basic gymnastics skills in a fun filled environment that includes playing games, fun stretches, jumping on the trampoline, and introduction to the Olympic gymnastics Equipment including bars, beam, floor and vault. (Co-ed), class length – 45 minutes, students participate on their own

Boys Ages 5-7
Beginner/Intermediate – These classes exemplify how rewarding gymnastics can be for boys. Students will have fun improving strength, flexibility, coordination with an emphasis on tumbling. Skills learned in gymnastics will enhance performance in other sports. (Boys only)

Girls Ages 5-7
Beginner/Intermediate – For beginners and students with previous experience (cartwheel, bridge, and handstand).These classes explore the traditional Olympic gymnastics events; bars, beam, vault and floor. Students have fun improving strength, flexibility and coordination. (Girls only) Advanced – Front and back walkovers, round-offs, pull over on the bars Advanced classes are by invitation only, for an evaluation call (770) 206-2037

Boys Ages 7+
Beginner/Intermediate – These classes exemplify how rewarding gymnastics can be for boys. Students will have fun improving strength, flexibility, coordination with an emphasis on tumbling. Skills learned in gymnastics will enhance performance in other sports. (Boys only)

Adult Gymnastics
The adult gymnastics class incorporates balance, flexibility, stretching, and strength. This is the perfect all-around workout that uses every muscle in your body and helps develop gymnastics skills for all levels. This class is fun, rigorous and challenging for the former gymnast or any adult that wants to experience an exciting way to exercise. Your body will feel great and your friends will be impressed.
