Family Forest Walk at Big Trees Preserve

Did you know this preserve almost became a car dealership in the 1980’s?   Come see some of the tallest trees in Sandy Springs, including Tulip Poplar and American Beech. Enjoy a short guided walk through Big Trees Preserve. Make leaf and bark rubbings to take home.  We will meet at the outdoor classroom at the start of the trail.

Bees and Butterflies at Lost Corner Preserve

Explore the gardens, and honey bee apiary with a Sandy Springs Naturalist.  Binoculars will be provided to watch the nesting Lost Corner Bluebirds.   See how many butterflies we can find, and make a butterfly craft to take home.  We will meet on the porch of the Lost Corner Cottage (visible from the parking lot).

Family Bird Walk at Morgan Falls Overlook Park

Learn to use binoculars and see some of the many birds at Morgan Falls Overlook Park.  Make a (classic!) bird-seed-on-a-pinecone to take home.   We will meet in the pavilion past the playground.
