In an effort to protect the community and avoid large gatherings in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s July 4th Stars and Stripes Fireworks event is canceled. This decision was made due to the challenge of providing appropriate social distancing practices, concerning the large crowd this event attracts, and the size restrictions on the event site.
“These are tough times and very difficult decisions have to be made. Our community events are an important component in bringing people together, but togetherness presents a health risk related to the COVID-19 virus. We will bring these events back as soon as it is safe to do so,” Mayor Rusty Paul.
