The Sandy Springs Cultural Center at City Springs presents a unique opportunity to act on the goals set forth in the City Center Master Plan and the Next Ten Comprehensive Plan creating a unique, vibrant, and walkable district that serves as a civic and cultural center for Sandy Springs and a focal point for community activity and identity
The City Center Master Plan, adopted in 2012, seeks to create places of community that serve all of Sandy Springs by attracting more arts, cultural, and civic events to City Center. The plan calls for the creation of civic facilities that draw the community together in shared activities and convey community identity. In addition, The Next Ten Plan adopted in 2016, identifies the City Springs district as a unique, vibrant, and walkable district which serves as a civic and cultural center for the City, as well as a focal point for community activity and identity.
The City began discussions regarding the concept of a cultural center in 2015. A programming workshop was held in 2016 to evaluate needs and possible budget requirements.
