Since its inception in 2006, the Sandy Springs Police Department Intern Program has hosted more than a dozen college students providing 150 to 450 hour internships. Students work alongside officers on patrol, criminal investigations, traffic, vice and narcotics investigative units. These internships provide wide exposure to the various aspects of public safety. Additionally, students receive an introduction to simulated and firearms training.
