Certification and Inspections

The Certification and Inspections Unit manages the written directive system for the Department. The unit is charged with maintaining compliance with the standards set by the Georgia State Certification Program. The Certification and Inspections Manager is Sergeant Amanda Stein. Internal Affairs

Captain Benjie Cain oversees the Internal Affairs Unit. His current assignment is responsible for investigating and/or managing inquiries into all complaints and allegations made against sworn and civilian members of the Sandy Springs Police Department. The unit strives to ensure that the integrity of the Department remains intact. Each investigation is conducted objectively and thoroughly. The goal of the Internal Affairs Unit is to determine the facts of complaints filed against sworn and civilian personnel and make referrals based on if, or if not, the complaint is substantiated. Captain Cain can be reached via E-mail or contact him by phone at 770-551-3309.

Recruiting

The Sandy Springs Police Department recruitment section is the starting point for police applicants interested in a career with the SSPD. The Recruitment Officer provides employment information and process new applicant information during the hiring, testing, and evaluation stages. The Recruitment Officer conducts background investigations and coordinate the testing procedure for psychological and polygraph examinations. They maintain applicant folders, from receiving the finished application to the point of providing the hiring board a finished and evaluated applicant folder. Training

Sergeant David Roskind is the Training Director for the Sandy Springs Police Department's Training Unit, which is dedicated to developing the skills, knowledge, and service delivery of sworn and civilian employees.
