Gymnastics is a great activity that develops strength, coordination, balance, flexibility and self-confidence. Sandy Springs gymnastics classes have something to offer every child. Our youth programs provide gymnastics instruction for boys and girls ofWinter various skill levels from 12 months to 18 years of age. More than 150 different gymnastics classes are offered each season. Class size is based on a student to instructor ratio of 8 to 1. Our facility has state of the art equipment for all ages including a brand new preschool gym designed just for children under five years opening this fall. All of our coaches are experienced professionals who undergo regular training and are USA Gymnastics Safety, CPR, First Aid and AED certified. Many of our instructors hold state, national and even Olympic titles. Youth over 18 months to adults may be registered for gymnastics classes online or by phone, mail, fax or in person on a first come first served basis. City staff will not reserve or hold a spot in class for a participant. Program fees are due at the time of registration. All registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a class is filled, no additional participants may be registered for that class.

Program Seasons and Holiday Schedule

The City of Sandy Springs offers a gymnastics program throughout the year.

Our recreational facilities are closed in observance the following holidays:

New Year’s Day, MLK Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, July Fourth, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and Christmas Day.

It may be necessary for the City of Sandy Springs to reschedule a gymnastics class and require participants to attend a class on a non-regular day during or after the week of a holiday.

Gymnastics Rules and Regulations

  1. Only Registered students may participate.

  2. Participants are allowed on gym floor ONLY during their designated class times. Please wait on the bleachers for your instructor to call in your class.

  3. Do not climb, or sit on the trophy wall.

  4. No shoes, chewing gum, food or drinks are allowed in the gymnastics areas at any time.

  5. No jewelry may be worn during class.

  6. Hair MUST be pulled up and away from the face.

  7. Participants MUST wear proper gymnastics attire: All female gymnasts should wear a leotard. Leggings or shorts may be worn on top of the leotard. Please no skirts, shoes, tights or socks as they make the equipment slippery. All male gymnasts should wear comfortably fitting clothing that is does not have any zippers or buttons. If your child is wearing athletic pants, the pants should not be long enough to drag on the ground. Please no socks as they make the equipment slippery.

  8. Parents MUST supervise their children not participating in a class. Children not enrolled in class are NOT ALLOWED on the gym floor.

  9. Bathroom breaks are not supervised by the instructors. Parents please make a point to have students use the restroom before class and hang around to assist if your child is a frequent goer.

Make-Up Classes

Make-up classes are NOT guaranteed. They must be SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE with your instructor. There are a limited number of classes able to accommodate make-ups. We advise you to schedule the make-up as soon as an absence occurs to ensure class availability. Waiting until the last few weeks of the session will not guarantee the ability to schedule a make-up. Make-ups are not permitted during the last week of classes due to the awards ceremonies and cannot be carried over to the new session.
