SANDY SPRINGS PARTNERS WITH PATH FOUNDATION FOR TRAIL DESIGN
During its February 4, 2020 meeting, the Sandy Springs City Council approved the selection of the PATH Foundation to aid in the implementation of the Trail Master Plan and the design of the Marsh Creek Trail. The Marsh Creek Trail segment was identified as a priority project in the Trail Master Plan adopted by the City Council on October 15, 2019.
The PATH Foundation will be responsible for surveying, landscape architecture, engineering, permitting, and construction management for the twelve-foot wide, concrete, multi-use Marsh Creek trail connecting the Abernathy Tennis Center at Glenridge Road.
The City’s Trail Master Plan identifies 31.4 miles of greenway trails, side paths, and neighborhood greenways, connecting to 12 schools, 15 parks and green spaces, and providing connections to neighboring jurisdictions. The Trail Master Plan will serve as a blueprint to guide future capital and programming priorities. The 10-year implementation plan includes seven (7) miles of trails.
