City of Sandy Springs Launches Commemorative Brick and Seat Purchase Program for the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center
Sandy Springs residents will soon have the opportunity to see their name etched in stone at City Springs. During its September 3, 2019 meeting, the Sandy Springs Public Facilities Authority officially launched “Paver” and “Buy a Seat” campaigns to support arts and arts education programming at City Springs. Brick pavers are personalized with an engraved name or message. They will be installed along the City Green walkway in front of the fountains. Theatre seat nameplates will also feature customizable text and will be installed in Byers Theatre.
“These commemorative pavers and nameplates are another way the community can personally connect to their community gathering place, and at the same time, provide support for arts programming and arts education,” said Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul.
The cost to purchase a brick paver is $300 and includes three lines of text, with a maximum of 32 characters per line (including spacing and punctuation). A contribution of $1,000 provides an engraved nameplate on one of the seats in Byers Theatre. Nameplates include five lines of text with a maximum of 30 characters per line. Purchasers can combine a paver and nameplate for $1,200. Both pavers and nameplates can be purchased to celebrate a marriage, birth or graduation; memorialize a loved one, or honor someone special.
The City has prioritized arts education as a critical component of the performing arts center’s mission to educate, enrich, and inspire young minds. Along with its education partner, the City Springs Theatre Company, to date education programming has served more than 45 schools in the Atlanta-metropolitan area, touching the lives of more than 5,000 children. Programs include student matinees, master classes and summer programs like this past year’s sold-out NextGen Broadway theatre camp.
