Public Meeting: Millage Rate | Property Tax Increase

  • Introduction: The City of Sandy Springs, Mayor and City Council have tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require
    an increase in property taxes by 3.05 percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing.

The City of Sandy Springs, Mayor and City Council have tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require
an increase in property taxes by 3.05 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at the Sandy Springs
City Hall, 1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, Georgia on July 16, 2019 at 6:00 pm.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Sandy Springs City Hall,
1 Galambos Way, Sandy Springs, Georgia on August 6, 2019 at 7:30 am and 6:00 pm.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 4.731 mills, an increase of .14 mills. Without this tentative
tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 4.591 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a
fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $6.30 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead
property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $25.20.
