The Mt Vernon Corridor Project encompasses an area from the Sandy Springs MARTA Station to Vernon Woods Drive for a total project length of approximately 1.5 miles. Project concepts include a 10’-12’ multi-use path, 6’ sidewalks, landscaping, buffers, and a center turn lane. Safety and operational improvements are also proposed at the existing signalized intersections within the project area.
The Mt Vernon Corridor Multi-use Path is included within the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (T-SPLOST) program approved by voters in Sandy Springs and Fulton County as part of the T-SPLOST referendum passed in November 2016. This project is in alignment with the City’s adopted Bike/Pedestrian Plan, Comprehensive Plan and Last Mile Connectivity initiatives. The path will also provide connectivity to the proposed multi-use paths on Peachtree Dunwoody Road and the Path 400 Trail.
