  • Introduction: City of Sandy Springs hosts its sixth annual Independence Day Celebration at Concourse.

The skies above Sandy Springs will sparkle and sizzle as the City hosts its sixth annual Stars and Stripes Celebration fireworks event, Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Concourse lawn.  The community is invited to pack a picnic and enjoy an evening under the stars as part of this much-anticipated holiday tradition.

“It has become an annual tradition for the community to come together and celebrate,” said Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul.  “The event is friends and neighbors getting together to enjoy the summer night and spectacular fireworks.”

The official viewing area is the lawn at the Concourse, located at Five Concourse Parkway.  Complimentary parking officially opens at 6:30 p.m. and will be available in Concourse Parking Decks Five and Six. Music from the band, Shiloh, begins at 7:30 p.m., and fireworks provide their effervescent sparkle beginning at 9:45 p.m.

There is no admission to attend. New this year, several food trucks will be on hand for guests who don’t pack a picnic. Residents are encouraged to pack a snack and bring soft-sided balls, Frisbees and other kid and crowd-friendly toys. Pets, tents, outdoor cooking and personal-use sparklers are not permitted in the Concourse area.  Drones are not permitted in the Concourse and fireworks areas.

The Sandy Springs Stars and Stripes Celebration is sponsored by CBRE Global Investors (Concourse), Regent Partners, and the City of Sandy Springs.
