Prohibition in the Park

Heritage Sandy Springs presents Prohibition in the Park

Heritage Sandy Springs’ Prohibition in the Park event – a fundraiser benefiting their Farmers Market and Historic Resources Program – has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 29, 2017. Guests can enjoy a roaring (20’s) good time in the gardens at Heritage Green from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., all while raising funds for these two initiatives.
Prohibition in the Park will present the history of moonshine and speakeasies from Sandy Springs to the metro-Atlanta area, and throughout the state of Georgia. Four cocktail bars and a speakeasy will feature the unique histories of five liquors. At each of the bars, sponsored by The Savvy Cellars and JR Revelry Bourbon Whiskey, guests will receive a complimentary cocktail tasting infused with fruits and herbs from the Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market.
Guests can experience the feel of 1920’s nightlife in the cigar lounge, sponsored by Sandy Springs Cigars. Hors d'oeuvres will be prepared by Brooklyn Café, Savor Bar & Kitchen, Slope’s Barbeque, CalyRoad Creamery, and Cloud Catering. Jazz music will add to the Prohibition-era atmosphere, while authors Mary O. Boyle and Ron Smith discuss their historical book Prohibition in Atlanta with interested guests. This book has generously been donated to the event’s silent auction, as well as a one-of-a-kind Frabel glass sculpture. A full list of silent auction items can be found at, where online bidding will be open to the public starting June 15.
All ticket sales for Prohibition in the Park, as well as proceeds from the silent auction, will benefit the Heritage Sandy Springs Farmers Market and Historic Resources Program. Tickets to Prohibition in the Park are $50 for Heritage Sandy Springs Members and $75 for non-members. Cocktail attire is requested; themed outfits are encouraged.
Prohibition in the Park is presented in partnership with A Classical Affair, The Savvy Cellars, JR Revelry, Sandy Springs Cigars, Frabel Glass, Steel Canyon Golf Club, 5 Seasons Brewing, Savor Bar & Kitchen, Slope’s Barbecue, CalyRoad Creamery, Cloud Catering, Brooklyn Café, Act3 Productions, and Ron Smith and Mary O. Boyle.
