Swift911 FAQs
Swift911 Emergency Notification has the capability of sending text messages. Simply provide your cell phone and carrier information by logging onto www.sandyspringsga.org and clicking the Swift 911 Emergency Notification icon.
The City’s list of phone numbers comes from a variety of sources. If you received the test phone call on May 6, 2009, you are listed in the database. If not, register online, in person or via mail. Even if you receive the test call, you will still want to visit the registration page to add additional contact information, such as your cell phone number and e-mail address.
Each resident and business within the City of Sandy Springs will receive a telephone message to their Primary Phone Number with the emergency alert.
Although Emergency Management personnel advise against it, provide your information by logging onto www.sandyspringsga.org. Click on the Swift 911 Emergency Notification icon and select the "Remove" button. You may also put your request in writing to “Swift 911” at 7840 Roswell Road, Building 500, Sandy Springs, GA 30350.
You can go to City Hall, one of the four fire stations or police headquarters and fill out the form and either leave it there or mail it in. Alternatively, you may contact the City at (770) 206-1400 for assistance with enrolling.

Swift911 Emergency Notification is a high-speed notification system that, in the event of an emergency, contacts every household and/or phone number either by telephone, email, text or pager. CodeRed is a weather warning system that is also a reverse 911 system that will automatically call residents and businesses with a recorded message from the National Weather Service if a severe weather warning is issued for your area.
Swift 911 Emergency Notification is a computerized telephone calling system that can be used to notify you of an emergency situation such as a severe storms or a dangerous situation.
Only the City of Sandy Springs Emergency Management Team can activate Swift 911 Emergency Notification.
Swift911 Emergency Notification and CodeRed each provided unique functionality for providing emergency messages and weather warnings. Therefore, the City selected Swift911 as its emergency messaging provider and CodeRed as its weather warning provider. The Emergency Management Team determined this arrangement would provide Sandy Springs residents and businesses with the most rapid and reliable emergency notification available.
